Boat Description

This remarkable classic sportfish, hull number 39, was crafted in 1959 by John Rybovich & Sons Boat Works in West Palm Beach, FL. Originally named SAPO, it was the third Rybovich build for its first owner. After five dedicated owners, the current custodian has maintained her in outstanding condition for the past 13 years, enjoying yearly trips to the Bahamas. In 2008, the boat underwent a comprehensive refit and repower, receiving brand-new Cummins QSB diesel engines, and in 2010, it was fitted with a full tuna tower designed by Jack Hopewell. The extensive 2008 refit included upgrades to all plumbing, complete rewiring and electrical panel, tanks, decks, through-hulls, shafts/running gear, exhaust, trim tabs, steering, and bilges, which were all primed and finished with Awlgrip. Brightwork was either replaced or refinished at Michael Rybovich & Sons boatyard for a distinguished boat collector. Since then, the boat has received meticulous care and reflects true pride of ownership. Recent updates include new Garmin electronics installed in 2019, and in 2023, a new Northern Lights 6kW generator was mounted on a sliding stainless-steel bracket, along with a thorough 1000-hour service for the Cummins engines, which included the removal and cleaning of all cooling circuit components and replacement of necessary hoses and clamps. In 2024, a new keel was glassed in place, and a complete paint job, bottom job, and tune-up of the running gear and prop-speed were performed. In 2025, the cockpit's teak decking was lightly sanded, recaulked, and sealed, while the interior's teak and holly sole was refinished and clear-coated. This vessel has been lovingly maintained and remains practical for regular use. It is available for viewing by appointment in South Miami, with most photos (except for profile shots) taken on March 20, 2024.
