Boat Description

Introducing a true classic sportfish, hull number 39, expertly crafted in 1959 by John Rybovich & Sons Boat Works in West Palm Beach, FL. Originally named SAPO, this vessel was the third build for its first owner. After five dedicated owners, the current steward has maintained her in exceptional condition over the past 13 years, relishing annual trips to the Bahamas. A comprehensive refit and repower in 2008 included the installation of brand-new Cummins QSB diesel engines, and in 2010, a complete tuna tower was added by Jack Hopewell. The 2008 overhaul encompassed extensive updates, including new plumbing, a complete rewiring and electrical panel, replacement of tanks, decks, through-hulls, shafts/running gear, exhaust systems, trim tabs, and steering mechanisms, along with a thorough priming and Awlgrip finish of the bilges, plus all brightwork was replaced or refinished by Michael Rybovich & Sons boatyard for a distinguished collector. Since then, this boat has received meticulous care, showcasing true pride of ownership. In 2019, she was upgraded with new Garmin electronics, and in 2023, a Northern Lights 6kW generator was installed on a sliding stainless-steel mount, along with a complete 1000-hour service for the Cummins diesels, which included the removal and cleaning of cooling circuit components and replacement of necessary hoses and clamps. In 2024, a new keel was glassed in place, followed by a full paint job, bottom job, and running gear tune/prop-speed. In 2025, the cockpit's teak decking was lightly sanded, recaulked, and sealed, while the interior teak and holly sole was refinished and clear-coated. This vessel has been lovingly maintained and remains practical for regular use. Viewings are available by appointment in South Miami, with most photos (excluding profile images) taken on March 20, 2024.
