This advanced vessel boasts cutting-edge propulsion systems, allowing it to function in three distinct modes: Surface, Semi-Submerged, and Submerged. It has been rigorously tested to a depth of 50 meters, with a maximum operational depth of 40 meters. On the surface, it can reach speeds of 40 knots powered by a diesel engine, while maintaining over 6 knots in both semi-submerged and submerged states. Measuring 11.2 meters (37.73 feet) in length and 2.32 meters (7.55 feet) in beam, it conveniently fits into a 40-foot container.
The CDDC is specifically designed for optimal performance both above and below the water's surface. It features ergonomic seating for 10 divers and 2 crew members, with easily accessible wet cargo compartments from the exterior. The hull is constructed in adherence to DNV/GL standards for High Speed Light Craft (GL HSC 2012), utilizing a single skin construction made of vacuum-infused epoxy and E-Glass carbon fiber, reinforced with a Kevlar keel.
All critical components, including the engine, actuators, battery modules, and electronics, are housed in watertight enclosures. The transition between surface and underwater modes is executed seamlessly, without altering pilot handling or disrupting forward speed.
Equipped with sophisticated onboard sensors and navigation systems, the vessel ensures safe travel and precise positioning, day or night, whether above or below the surface, regardless of speed or sea conditions. Key features include a rim-driven main underwater thruster, rear trim thruster, waterjet, forward dive plane, optic mast system, forward and aft ballast tanks, diesel engine, and stabilization fins.
The vessel also includes 10 diver seats, 2 helm seats, a diesel tank, a LiFePO battery bank, an onboard rebreather system, and sonar capabilities. With the Switch Activated Rapid Access (SARA) system, navigational tasks such as autonomous surface or submerged navigation, predefined coordinate travel, position holding, search grid execution, or return to home can be activated with a single button. SARA also facilitates transitions between various modes, including surface to submerged and periscope depths, while a computer-controlled ballast and trim planes manage the activation of the Emergency Lift Bladder (ELB) for safety.
