Renowned in the world of sailing, the name "Horacio Carabelli" carries a rich nautical legacy. Born in Montevideo and holding a Brazilian passport, Horacio is a skilled mechanical engineer and naval architect with extensive experience in international sailing across Dinghies, Olympic Class, and Offshore yachts. He participated in three Volvo Ocean Races from 2004 to 2012, achieving victory with the Ericsson 4 team in the 2008/2009 race. Horacio also played a key role as design team manager in four America's Cup campaigns, including a second stint with the Pirelli and Prada-sponsored Luna Rossa. His father, Horacio Carabelli Senior, is a Master Sailboat Builder from southern Brazil, who designed and constructed the stunning schooner, HORIZONTE. This magnificent vessel has a remarkable history, having embarked on a 5-year circumnavigation over two decades ago, starting from Florianópolis, Brazil, and journeying to Florida via the Panama Canal. HORIZONTE, an 86-foot motorsailer with a 17-foot bowsprit, features two masts, with the taller mizzen mast enhancing its elegant silhouette.
