Introducing a remarkable 1979 Pearson 424 Ketch, freshly arrived and soon to have more details available. This boat, purchased by its current owner in 2001 from Michigan, has only ever been in fresh water. It boasts numerous upgrades, including a powerful 56 hp Cummins diesel engine, an 80-gallon aluminum fuel tank, and a dripless stuffing box. The vessel features a feathering prop, a Magnum inverter/charger, and is equipped with two new Lithium 8D house batteries along with two starting batteries, all set for 2024. The steering system has been rebuilt, and it comes with a Garmin GPS system complete with radar and transducer, as well as new AIS and VHF communications. Enhancements also include a bow thruster, a Maxwell windlass, and a dedicated battery and charger for both systems. The mainsail is new as of 2022, and the boat is equipped with whole-boat air conditioning and heating. It features an electric fresh water head with a 40-gallon holding tank and a replaced 11-gallon water heater. The interior has been upgraded with Granite Transformation countertops and the icebox has been converted to a keel-cooled Frigoboat refrigeration system. The main salon cushions have been reupholstered in high-quality leatherette vinyl, and the deck and topsides were painted in 2020. The last haul-out and bottom job was completed in 2025. The rigging includes a roller furling headsail, a Marconi main, and a missen sail.
