Boat Description

We are parting with Pelican, our cherished MaineCat 30 catamaran, after 15 years filled with joy and adventure. The MaineCat 30 is known for its impressive speed (reaching up to 11 knots) and expansive, open deck that offers ample space and visibility, making it perfect for coastal cruising, living aboard, or day sailing escapades. This family-friendly catamaran is an excellent choice for families. It's enjoyable for experienced sailors, stable for novices, and safe for children—your furry friend is welcome too! The deck comfortably seats eight to ten guests and provides shade, making it ideal for entertaining or sunset cruises. Plus, the bow features two trampolines for those who love to feel the breeze and splashes of water. Inside the pontoons, you'll find two cabins that can comfortably accommodate six people, making it perfect for overnight charters or longer sailing trips. The galley is equipped with a stovetop and refrigerator, alongside a full bath with a shower and plenty of storage for gear and supplies. The bridge deck can be securely enclosed with acrylic or fabric panels, creating a spacious living area without sacrificing the joy of open-air sailing. Equipped with solar panels, this energy-efficient catamaran charges its battery and powers the equipment without needing shore power—perfect for off-grid adventures. Enjoy having cold drinks stocked in the fridge, even while moored. With two separate engines, Pelican is easy to maneuver, especially given its size of thirty feet in length and an impressive 18 feet in width, allowing for effortless docking. Its 2-foot draft makes anchoring and accessing the beach a breeze, while a daggerboard ensures stability during swift sailing. As our children have grown, we find ourselves with less crew than before. It's time for us to transition back to a smaller monohull and pass Pelican on to another family to love and cherish just as we have.
