The seller acquired this stunning vessel in the summer of 2021. Below is the information and history from her previous broker's 2021 listing. In recent years, the boat has been kept on an outdoor lift at the owner's residence. Some varnish and deck paint are due for renewal. Built in 1946, she was known as ROMP and was a cherished member of the Northeast Harbor Fleet for many years. Featuring a hot molded hull crafted from five layers of mahogany laminate, she underwent restoration at the Elk Spar and Boat Shop from the late 1990s to early 2000s. During this restoration, her keel was removed, the hull inverted, and veneers were replaced and re-glued, with the bottom fiberglassed up to the waterline. The ballast bolts have also been updated. Equipped with a standard Luders 16 wooden mast and excellent North sails, she is ready for new adventures. Since arriving in Rhode Island in 2020, the hull has seen additional restoration and enhancements by East Passage Boatwrights in Bristol, RI. Her hull has been freshly painted inside and out, and recent upgrades include a modified Torqeedo Electric Outboard, a spinnaker launching hatch, modified cockpit seats for storage of the outboard, fenders, lines, and a new boom tent. She's a beautiful boat poised for speed! Notable updates from 2020 include the Torqeedo Travel 1103C electric motor, new mahogany cockpit bench seats with under-seat storage, a reconfigured cockpit sole with a new main sheet Harken Swivel Cam Base, and new storage shelves and cooler platform below deck. The deck hatch has also been replaced for easier spinnaker deployment, and damaged plywood at the base of the main bulkhead has been replaced. The interior planking, under deck, and deck beams have all received fresh paint, along with new hull paint (Epifanes Enamel) and vinyl lettering. Previous restorations include hull stripping and fairing in 1995, keel bolts replacement and hull refastening in 2003, and a complete keel replacement with new bottom planking and fiberglass work from 2013 to 2014. She comes with North mainsail, jib, spinnaker, and genoa, all reported to be in good, serviceable condition.
