Sail handling is a breeze from the expansive cockpit, which also provides plenty of sunbathing space. Produced from 1995 to 2005, prices vary widely, with many units found overseas, particularly in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. The Athena 38, a product of Olympic sailors Jean-Francois Fountaine and Yves Pajot, is designed with novice skippers in mind, featuring user-friendly handling. The exterior boasts a sleek, curvaceous design that seamlessly transitions from outdoor to indoor spaces, perfect for al fresco dining or cozy meals indoors during inclement weather. The spacious stern features comfortable bench seating for up to 12 people and a six-person table, enhancing the cruising experience. Inside, the low-maintenance design is appealing to both charter companies and cruising enthusiasts. The salon cleverly extends into the cockpit area, with a large table surrounded by a semi-circular lounge, a navigation station, and a well-equipped galley. The exterior's molded fiberglass lines add to the inviting look, while the ProFurl furling headsail and easy mainsail handling enhance functionality. Equipped with two quiet Yanmar diesel engines, the Athena 38 can cruise at 7.5 knots with minimal vibration and impressive fuel efficiency. Comfort is prioritized throughout, with spacious cabins and high-quality materials ensuring a luxurious feel. The thoughtful design maximizes enjoyment on board, making it an ideal choice for various sailing adventures.
