Launched in 1984, DIDAY was acquired by her current owner in 1993 and promptly underwent a significant refit at Derecktor Shipyards in Mamaroneck, New York. This transformation, designed by Bill Langen of Sparkman & Stephens, included an extension that added 10 feet to the vessel, creating a garage storage space, a generator room, and a stunning aft deck for dining and lounging. The topsides were widened with new plating from the rail to the chine, midship aft. The interior was completely renovated under the careful supervision of Orsini Design of New York. Initially equipped with a GM 1292 Diesel engine, she was upgraded in 2001 to twin 12V 2000 MTU Engines, while her running gear shafts and props were also modified to suit the new design. Additionally, two new Twin Kohler 32 kW generators were installed, along with a Northern Lights 12 kW generator. The flybridge arch was a notable addition during the 1993-95 refit. DIDAY has enjoyed summers at her owner’s residence in Martha’s Vineyard and winters in South Florida and Charleston. Her interior showcases the exceptional results of a well-executed refit on a yacht with a distinguished pedigree.
