Introducing the SV See Dream, a stunning 1990 Bristol Channel Cutter, designed by Lyle Hess and expertly built by Sam Morse. This remarkable vessel, hull #71 of the Bristol Channel Cutter series, was meticulously completed by her owner, Franz, after five years of dedicated work to meet the high standards of the Sam Morse factory, launching in 1992. Originally set afloat in Bellingham, WA, See Dream navigated the Northwest waters before embarking on two Atlantic crossings after being transported to the East Coast in 1997. For over 25 years, she enjoyed summer voyages in the Mediterranean, spending the rest of the year securely stored and protected with a custom cover. Recently, she made her way back across the Atlantic to the Caribbean in 2023, followed by a journey from Trinidad to Puerto Rico in 2024, and onto Florida in 2025. In 2026, she arrived in Hampton, VA. With unique features including custom cast oval portholes inspired by patterns from Larry Pardey, this vessel is presently docked at Belle Isle Marina in Hampton, VA. See Dream is equipped with a new main and jib from 2021 that remain in excellent condition, an unused storm sail, a drifter, and a spare jib for wing-on-wing sailing. A new spray dodger was added in 2022, and in 2024, the interior upholstery was refreshed along with the installation of a new 3-burner range. A new Danfoss refrigerator compressor unit will be added in 2026. The boat is well-stocked with spare parts and undergoes routine maintenance, including bottom repainting every three years without any signs of fiberglass blisters, thanks to two coats of epoxy paint applied before launching. Annual zinc replacements and new canvas in 2023—including a custom spray dodger and cockpit cover—ensure she remains in top condition. Recently, the engine was serviced, and the hatches received a fresh varnish. Notably, she features a unique self-steering system designed by Larry Pardey, operating off a trim tab on the rudder, making her a well-loved and meticulously maintained blue water cruiser.
