Boat Description
Viking showcases its leadership in the sportfishing yacht sector with the Viking 68, a remarkable four-Stateroom blue-water Convertible that combines exceptional performance, robust construction, and luxurious interior comforts, along with cutting-edge propulsion and control technologies. The 68 Convertible is expertly crafted to excel as both a tournament-ready offshore vessel and a cruising yacht, equipped with all the conveniences and innovations you expect from Viking. Optional Seakeeper gyro stabilizers enhance comfort whether you're fishing or cruising. Anglers can enjoy a spacious 176-square foot Cockpit, while guests relax in the air-conditioned Observation Mezzanine. This stunning battlewagon, built on Viking’s renowned hull design with a 12.1-degree transom deadrise, ensures a smooth ride even in challenging seas, achieving cruising speeds of 35 knots and a top speed exceeding 40 knots. Its striking design features an aggressively raked stem, a gently sloping sheer, a swept-back black-masked windshield, and an elegant Flying Bridge brow. Inside the Deckhouse, you’ll discover a realm of luxury, comfort, and smart storage solutions. The Four-Stateroom, Four-Head layout caters to the most discerning yachtsmen as well as dedicated tournament anglers. Adorned with a high-gloss walnut finish, the Salon exemplifies intelligent design, maximizing the wide beam for space. From the electric Salon door to the retractable 49-inch HD TV and convenient Day Head with Cockpit access, every detail is focused on luxury and comfort. Frameless windows flood the expansive Salon with natural light, while air conditioning is discreetly distributed from hidden registers to minimize noise. The electrical panel is conveniently located at eye level inside the Companionway door for quick access. Open to the Salon, the walk-around island Galley not only maximizes space but also serves as a vibrant social gathering spot, featuring modern conveniences like Sub-Zero under-counter refrigeration and secure pull-out drawers. A large dinette comfortably seats four, complemented by additional bar-stool seating at the island counter. The Companionway leads to the starboard Master Stateroom, which spans nearly the full beam of the boat, offering ample storage with his-and-her hanging lockers and credenzas that owners appreciate. The Master suite includes a queen-size walkaround bed, a maple-lined hanging closet with walnut doors, a 32-inch HD TV, and an en-suite Head with a separate shower. The Forward Stateroom features a walkaround queen bed with a spacious storage compartment below, while the Starboard and Crew Staterooms offer upper and lower berths, each with a private Head and stall shower. Crew quarters are discreetly accessed via a separate set of steps off the Companionway. The Observation Mezzanine includes port aft-facing lounge seating with Sunbrella-covered cushions, hinged seats, a tackle cabinet with pullout drawers, and a bait freezer. Standard Cockpit amenities include a sturdy anodized aluminum ladder to the Bridge, rounded coamings, recessed stainless-steel hardware, a stereo system, a large Lazarette hatch, and fresh and saltwater washdown systems, as well as a refrigerated chill box at the Salon entrance step, a walk-through transom door with a lift gate, and a non-slip fiberglass sole reinforced for fighting chair placement. For convenience at the dock, Glendinning Cable master shore power cords are supplied. The Flying Bridge features a Center Console Helm for excellent visibility, with electronic trolling valves for optimal control while fishing. Fishing rods are neatly stowed under the bench seats, and electronics are protected beneath a clear acrylic panel for visibility and weather resistance. An additional freezer and bench seat are located forward of the Helm. A climate-controlled Enclosed Bridge with a spiral staircase from the Salon is also available, offering a second Salon and private retreat, catering to cruising yachtsmen. The forward Control Station is equipped with essential controls, lighted instruments, and VIPER (Viking Independent Programmable Electro-hydraulic Rudder) steering. A second Station on the Flying Bridge overhang provides great visibility for docking or fishing. The stand-up Engine Room features Viking's advanced powder-coated web-frame structural-steel engine beds, designed for vibration-free alignment. Standard fuel capacity is 2,060 gallons housed in Viking-made fiberglass tanks integrated into the hull for maximum efficiency and strength, with an option to increase capacity to 2,423 gallons.
