Boat Description

Introducing Blackbeard II, a remarkable vessel crafted by William Garden and built by Master Shipwright Pat Sullivan in Victoria, B.C. This USCG documented boat was completed in 1975 and launched in 1978. With a striking design, she features Strip Planked Red Cedar over steamed and laminated Oak Frames, secured with galvanized nails. Powered by a robust Perkins 4-236, 4 Cylinder, 85HP Diesel Engine, Blackbeard II is equipped for both reliability and performance. Her electrical system includes 6 Dyno 6 VDC House Batteries and a Lifeline 12 VDC Starter Battery, all charged by a Xantrex Freedom Marine 25A 2500W Charger. The onboard electronics are top-notch, featuring a Garmin GPSMap 741xs Chart Plotter/Radar/GPS/Knotmeter, Raymarine Digital Depthsounder/Knotmeter/Trip Log, Wind and Speed Instruments, Uniden Oceanus and West Marine Handheld VHF radios, a Sony and Cybernet stereo system, and a Qualcomm Globalstar Satellite Phone. Blackbeard II has been lovingly cared for by her current owners for 40 years, making them the second owners of this incredible boat. Recent upgrades include a new Engine Heat Exchanger (2020), Transmission Heat Exchanger (2023), House Batteries (2020), a new Zodiac 10' RIB (2023), and several engine components updated in 2023. She features wide teak decks that flow seamlessly into a spacious cockpit, perfect for family outings or solo adventures. The teak decks are in excellent condition, as confirmed by a recent survey. The sails, crafted by PT Sails (Carol Hasse, Port Townsend), are in very good condition and include a Furling Genoa, Staysail, Main, Mizzen, and Asymmetrical Spinnaker. On the bow, a Hydraulic Windlass aids in securing her 60# CQR anchor with 200' of chain and rope rode, alongside a backup 45# CQR with 50' of chain and rope rode. Below deck, the interior of Blackbeard II is open and bright, featuring large windows that invite natural light. The spacious salon boasts an L-shaped settee and large table, while the galley is equipped with a Force-10 Propane 3-Burner Stove and Oven, a Pacific Refrigeration Freezer and Refrigerator, a stainless sink, and an Aqua Marine 18 GPH Reverse-Osmosis Water Maker System with hot and cold pressure water. A survey from December 2025 is available upon request. Blackbeard II has been meticulously maintained by her dedicated owners, ensuring she remains in excellent condition and ready for her next adventure. Showings are available by appointment.
