Tayana 1979

The Tayana 37 is a well-crafted Taiwanese sailboat designed by American naval architect Robert Perry, first launched in 1976. Originally commissioned by Will Eckert of Flying Dutchman Yachts and C.T. Chen of Ta Yang Yacht Building, the design was acquired by Ta Yang, leading to the vessel's production under the Tayana Yachts brand. This recreational keelboat features a robust fiberglass hull adorned with beautiful teak wood trim, including elegant teak decks. The Tayana 37 is predominantly a cutter rigged sloop, although some models come with an optional ketch rig. Its impressive length, reaching up to 42.17 feet, is complemented by spruce or aluminum spars and a functional bowsprit. Refitted in 2015, the boat boasts significant upgrades such as an epoxy barrier coat below the waterline, a complete replacement of all wiring, and a new propane system. Additionally, it features new running and standing rigging, life lines, a rebuilt rudder, and a modern electrical system including a new battery charger and inverter. The mast has been rewired with new LED lights, and the vessel is equipped with B&G chart plotters and Simrad VHF radio with AIS. Since 2015, the Tayana 37 has undergone further enhancements, including a new marine stove, a West Marine 10 RIB with a 9.9 Mercury outboard, and a range of solar and wind energy solutions for battery maintenance. The hull was repainted with AwlGrip in 2019, and various systems have been updated, ensuring all components are in excellent working condition.
