This vessel boasts a full carbon CCR rig with a boom pocket, along with a new below-deck autopilot, air conditioning, and a comprehensive suite of instruments. It includes a custom winter cover for mast-up storage and comes with a cradle. The Tartan 345 features a high-volume hull design that offers generous cruising accommodations and ample storage, while its powerful shape ensures ease of handling across various sailing conditions. The slightly v-shaped forward sections facilitate a smooth ride in rough waters, and the full, flat aft sections enhance speed potential in challenging conditions. The hull's volume is uniformly distributed, providing a balanced shape at all heel angles and maintaining a light helm even in tougher situations. The deck is constructed using a custom vacuum resin infusion method, integrating high-strength BPA epoxy resin, unidirectional E-glass, and premium sealed end-grain balsa coring. Hardware is securely attached with stainless steel machine screws that penetrate reinforced solid glass core windows and are anchored to 6061 T6 aluminum backing plates. This setup not only ensures remarkable strength and durability but also allows for convenient on-deck servicing. Tartan's deck construction results in a lightweight yet robust structure, enhancing the vessel's outstanding sailing performance. Additionally, the double-spreader, tapered carbon-fiber mast is stronger, stiffer, and lighter than the aluminum masts typically found on similar-sized production sailboats. These features contribute to a rig that is easier to tune, remains stable in high winds, and reduces pitching motion in rough seas. Unlike other builders who offer carbon masts as an optional upgrade, Tartan includes a carbon mast as standard equipment on every boat.
