Moody 1994

Nirvana is a well-maintained 1994 Moody 44, originally commissioned in the US in 1996 and lightly used in New England. She has spent winters on the hard and has enjoyed fresh water for half of each season. When I acquired her in 2018, the engine had only 1700 hours; it now has 2200 hours. In 2022, an extensive refit was carried out, featuring a completely redesigned, modern salon and thoughtful upgrades to the aft cabin. The salon floor has been upgraded with ¼ inch teak on ½ inch marine plywood, all coated in epoxy. Expert craftsmen have utilized solid teak for the other renovations. A new custom solar arch and dinghy davits made of 2 inch and 1-1/2 inch welded aluminum were installed, replacing the original Bimini and dodger with a bespoke canvas enclosure on a sturdy 1-1/2 inch welded aluminum frame. Designed by Bill Dixon and built in the Moody factory in Plymouth, England, Nirvana meets the rigorous Lloyd's of London standards for Ocean 100A1 certification for hull, superstructure, and safety, making her a testament to the quality and seaworthiness of Moody yachts. Currently docked in Rio Dulce, Guatemala, she is a turnkey yacht ready for adventure, having cruised the western Caribbean and Bay Islands in recent years. Rio Dulce offers convenient access to marinas with travel lifts and surveyors, serving as an excellent launching point for Caribbean cruising.
