The company operated until 1975 and, during its transition from wood to fiberglass, collaborated with Halmatic LTD from Great Britain to create durable hulls. Halmatic was known for their robust patrol boats that could withstand machine gun fire. This 56 Voyager model features a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull from Halmatic, while the decks and deckhouse are crafted from wood by Matthews, with some areas reinforced with fiberglass cloth. Originally named 'STROLLER' and later 'LADY HAWK' and 'JOY SEA', the current owner rebranded her as 'MY ALIBI' upon purchase in January 2017.
