"Snowbird," launched in 1971, was originally owned by a dedicated engineer who, alongside his wife, explored the East Coast for 45 years. In 2017, the current owner acquired Snowbird and embarked on an extensive refit with CW Hood Yachts to elevate her to a condition even better than new. The project involved the meticulous removal of all deck hardware, replacement of the weather decks and coach roof, and reinforcement of the teak cabin structure. New, elegantly designed teak toe rails were added, and modern materials laid the groundwork for a new cockpit. While the original systems were taken out to accommodate modern upgrades—including a rebuilt Yanmar 75 horsepower diesel engine that is not currently installed—her interior components were carefully preserved. With all major structural work completed, Snowbird is poised for another 50 years of sailing. However, her owner has transitioned to a larger Little Harbor yacht and is now eager to pass this project on to someone who can finish it.
