This nearly new Grand Banks Classic is primed and ready for your next adventure on the Loop! The knowledgeable second owners, who have cherished this lovely vessel since 1993, have diligently maintained GB 42 MY #926 in its original condition. Now available for sale as the owners upgrade to a GB 52. The galley is conveniently located down below. Powering this beauty are twin Lehman-Ford SP160 turbo engines with approximately 3,560 hours and an Onan 8kw generator with around 1,592 hours. Year after year, she consumes only 3 to 3.5 gallons of fuel per hour, cruising comfortably at 8 to 9 knots.
The vessel's history is rich, beginning with its first owner who purchased it from Hal Jones in Ft. Lauderdale and enjoyed cruising the northern Gulf of Mexico from 1985 to 1993. It was then berthed in the fresh waters of Blood River, Louisiana, where a fold-down mast allowed for covered dockage. After that, the second owners relocated the yacht via the Tenn-Tom/Mississippi waterways to the St. Croix River near Minneapolis/St. Paul, where it was stored under cover during winters. In 2007, they navigated it to Florida's West Coast and have since kept it in a hangar during summer months, ensuring it's never been exposed to harsh southern summer sun, which has kept the teak decks in excellent condition.
The hull is hand-laid fiberglass, and in 1993, the vessel underwent a thorough survey which revealed some blisters. The bottom was expertly peeled, heated, and dehumidified before being treated with a 4 mil advanced polyester coating and bottom paint, ensuring no further blisters have appeared. The current bottom paint is Sea Hawk Biocop.
On the foredeck, original high-shine fiberglass shines alongside three teak hatches, while the aft deck features a spacious teak-covered area with stainless steel rails and built-in steps to the transom and swim platform. The upper flybridge helm boasts a stunning teak wheel and full controls, with comfortable seating for guests and additional storage options.
The vessel is equipped with a custom fiberglass pulpit and dual anchor capability, complemented by a 12v vertical capstan windlass with convenient controls, a seawater washdown spigot, and both Plow and Danforth anchors.
Inside, the main salon welcomes you with a starboard L-settee and a classic GB dining table surrounded by teak chairs. The galley is efficiently designed with modern appliances and ample storage. The master stateroom features a queen bed with an en suite head and shower, while the forward stateroom offers a versatile V-berth. A unique 'galley stateroom' provides additional sleeping space, making it perfect for family adventures.
With two Ford-Lehman SP160 engines and a well-maintained construction, this Grand Banks has everything you need for comfortable cruising. Recent upgrades include a new genset starting battery, a Promariner smart charger, and a variety of custom modifications to enhance functionality and comfort. This vessel is a true gem, ready for new memories on the water!
