Glovertown Shipyard 2021

Introducing the Anne S. Pierce: A True Exploration Vessel with a Rich Heritage. Originally launched in 1982 as a North Atlantic scallop dragger, she was built to brave the unforgiving conditions of commercial fishing in some of the world's most challenging waters. Her sturdy construction and seaworthy design laid the groundwork for her incredible evolution. After serving in the commercial fishing industry, she was repurposed by Memorial University in Newfoundland as a research and training vessel, enduring the rigors of the North Atlantic for many years. Between 2019 and 2021, the vessel underwent a comprehensive refit at Glovertown Shipyard in Newfoundland, transforming her into a modern expedition yacht. Every aspect of the refit was meticulously planned to enhance comfort, safety, and functionality while respecting her rugged heritage. Today, the Anne S. Pierce is a 500+ ton exploration yacht that perfectly combines durability with charm. She confidently navigates icy waters as well as tropical seas, featuring: a reliable wood stove for warmth in extreme climates, straightforward and dependable electronics, and spacious living arrangements designed for extended expeditions. Her current owner has crafted her into a magnificent exploration platform, equally at ease in frigid northern regions and remote island chains.
