Boat Description

This expertly rigged boat boasts all-new electronics, including a 16-inch SIMRAD EVOs3 screen, a FUSION head unit paired with JL speakers and amplifiers, RGBW under-gunnel lighting, and Seablaze underwater lights on the transom. Powering this vessel is a new 300hp Mercury V8 installed in 2021, complete with updated controls and rigging, plus a rebuilt port-bracket ram. The hull and port-bracket were painted in 2023 with a vibrant Awlgrip Key Lime Green and finished with Awlgrip Clearcoat, while the interior features a fresh Ice Blue and Snow-White Gelcoat along with new non-skid surfaces. The front cushions and bolsters have also been refurbished, and new steering lines were installed, alongside a resealed steering cylinder and a full motor service, culminating in a wet sand and buff of the hull in 2026. This boat has an interesting history, having been bought and resold three times by the Gause factory, which upgraded its electronics and added a Power-Pole in 2012. We have invoices from Gause documenting these enhancements along with the installation of a new large console, hard T-top, dive platforms, and more during the original factory ownership. The Gause Built 26 is a product of generations of a fishing family dedicated to crafting the perfect fishing boat for Florida's west coast. Designed to float and operate in less than a foot of water, it offers ample space for multiple anglers. The concept successfully merges the best traits of flats boats with the roomy, drier ride of sport fishing vessels. Its popularity is evidenced by strong sales and high customer satisfaction, with many owners reporting the ability to venture over 60 miles offshore with confidence comparable to larger sport boats. In 2004, the Gause family undertook a significant redesign to enhance the boat further. This involved creating a new hull mold featuring increased bow flare to reduce spray and improve passenger comfort, resulting in a beautiful and functional design. The new hull incorporates a wide reverse chine that enhances lift and stability, leading to a faster and drier ride, while also improving directional control. The center console serves multiple functions, including storage and protection from the elements. The redesigned console is taller for improved space and features, blending seamlessly with the tower and offering innovative details that set it apart from typical fishing boat consoles. Fishing from this boat is a breeze, thanks to wide gunnels with non-skid surfaces that facilitate easy movement for anglers, especially during active fishing scenarios. The new deck mold enhances this with a wider gunnel for better access and maneuverability, particularly when casting for bait. Anchoring is simplified with a spacious top-loading anchor locker designed for easy access, allowing you to reach the bow comfortably without stubbing your toe. The locker features great knee-level support and a convenient design for the rode and pop-up bow cleat. Seating comfort is paramount, and Gause Built Boats has re-engineered the seating arrangements, ensuring plush cushions throughout for a superior experience on the water. The boat's design allows for stability and comfort while casting, eliminating obstacles that often hinder balance and accuracy. In the Gause Built 26, you can easily find your ideal casting position without discomfort, enhancing both the quality of your fishing experience and your success on the water.
