Boat Description

Discover the remarkable Endeavour 42, a sailboat with a fascinating backstory. Known as the 'St. Vitus Dance,' this vessel served as the home of James 'Sonny' Crockett from the iconic Miami Vice series. While the show featured three different yachts over five seasons, this particular Endeavour 42 made its debut in the second season and remained a fixture throughout the series. After its television run, it was sold to a private owner, underwent a full restoration in 2020, and is now available for charter in the stunning Florida Keys, with Key West as its new port of call. This yacht was not just for leisure; Crockett used it to entertain VIP guests and discreetly transport witnesses out to sea, away from potential threats. It played a crucial role in surveillance operations and anchored in breathtaking locations while serving as Crockett's primary residence during the series. The boat features a beautifully pigmented gelcoat finish molded onto fiberglass, with the boot and sheer stripe enhanced by Imron Paint. The deck and cockpit are crafted as a single unit from polyester resin and fiberglass, incorporating plywood coring for added stiffness and durability. All ballast is securely integrated into the keel, using cast lead encapsulated in polyester resin, forming a robust part of the hull structure. The rudder, made from high-density foam with a fiberglass skin, features a stainless steel rudder post for exceptional strength and water tightness. Steering is facilitated by a pedestal system utilizing stainless steel cables connected to a radial quadrant and a robust steel support frame. The mast, boom, and spreaders are constructed from extruded aluminum 6061-T6 alloy, ensuring durability with protective coatings. The forestay connects to a welded stainless steel stem head fitting, while all other stays and shrouds are securely fastened to stainless steel chainplates, reinforced with fiberglass for added strength. With adjustable turnbuckles for precise rigging tension, this Endeavour 42 offers both history and performance. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of television history—call today!
