Penelope, formerly known as Princess Gloria/Stampede, is a 118-foot expedition motor yacht crafted by Delta Marine. Originally launched in 1990, she underwent significant refurbishments in 2006-2008 and again in 2024. Built on a reliable commercial fishing hull with a full-displacement GRP construction, she offers exceptional seaworthiness and efficiency. A 12-foot extension designed by Delta Design Group enhances her fishing cockpit, transforming her into a formidable sportfishing mothership while maintaining her appeal as a comfortable family cruiser.
Equipped with twin Caterpillar 3412 TA diesel engines, each delivering 624 hp (completely overhauled in 2016), Penelope reaches a top speed of 12 knots and cruises efficiently at 10 knots, boasting an impressive range of 6,000 nautical miles at that speed, with fuel consumption of approximately 32 gallons per hour. She carries 20,000 gallons of diesel, 2,000 gallons of fresh water, and features a 450-gallon tender refueling station. Naiad 503 fin stabilizers and a 100-hp hydraulic Schottel bow thruster ensure excellent stability and maneuverability. Electrical power is provided by two 75-kW Caterpillar 3306B generators and a new 65-kW Northern Lights night generator installed in November 2025.
The deck layout is adventure-ready. The flybridge boasts a hardtop with a helm station, hot tub, wet bar, and generous C-shaped seating. The boat deck is equipped with hydraulic cranes for two sizable tenders (an 18’9” Egret with Yamaha VF115LA and a 17’ Hells Bay, repowered in 2024), plus racks for kayaks, paddleboards, and a new Sea-Doo GTX Limited 300 (also new in 2024). The aft deck features teak dining for ten guests, with easy access to the boat deck and down to the cockpit. The specialized fishing cockpit includes 15 rod holders, a large livewell, a 600-lb/day ice chipper, fish boxes, extensive gear lockers, and a 450-gallon gasoline fueling station. At the bow, twin Steen windlasses manage two 1,100-lb stockless anchors with 720 feet of chain each.
Accommodations for eight guests are arranged in four staterooms: a full-beam king-berth master suite with an en-suite head (including dual sinks and a separate shower), two queen-berth VIP staterooms each with en-suite heads, and a forward twin cabin with two singles and an en-suite head. A versatile convertible gym/office adds flexibility for guests. Crew accommodations support up to seven crew members, featuring a captain's cabin and crew cabins forward alongside full laundry facilities.
Recent upgrades from 2023-2025 include a new Atlas shore power converter, installation of the night generator, enhanced ice-making and refrigeration systems, dual Starlink Maritime antennas for high-speed internet, and a comprehensive refresh of the AV/CCTV systems with new Luma PTZ and fixed network cameras. All soft furnishings were updated in 2024, complementing earlier multi-million-dollar refits that redesigned her interiors, added a 12-foot hull extension, and installed new teak decks.
Her navigation and electronics are extensive, featuring two Furuno NavNet radars, multiple Furuno NavNet chartplotters, a Garmin GPS Map 840xs, Simrad AP50 autopilot, Danforth compasses, Furuno sonar, AIS, Standard Horizon, Quantum and Uniden VHF radios, an ICOM SSB, KVH VSAT, and twin Starlink Maritime systems. Together with her robust machinery and expedition-ready fuel and water capacities, Penelope is perfectly equipped for safe and stylish cruising to remote destinations.
