Launched in 1984, DIDAY was acquired by her current owner in 1993, who promptly took her to Derecktor Shipyards in Mamaroneck, New York, for an extensive refit. The renowned Bill Langen of Sparkman & Stephens designed the plans for her transformation and extension. The topsides were skillfully widened from the rail to the chine, creating a more spacious midship aft area. An additional 10 feet were added to accommodate a garage storage, a night generator room, and a stunning aft deck perfect for dining and lounging. The interior underwent a complete overhaul, featuring a new GM 1292 Diesel engine, which was later upgraded to 12V 2000's in 2001. The running gear, including shafts and props, was also adjusted to suit the new design. The revamped interior was meticulously completed at Derecktor's Shipyards under the guidance of Orsini Design of New York. In 2001, two new 32 kW Twin Kohler generators were installed, along with the upgraded MTU 2000 series engines. Key specifications include: - MTU 2000 Series with 6,000 hours (W-6 completed) - 2 x 32 kW Kohler Generators with 3,000 hours - Northern Lights 12 kW Generator with 1,300 hours A flybridge arch was also added during the 1993-95 refit.
