DIDAY was originally launched in 1984 and was later sold to the present owner in 1993. The new owner immediately sent her to Derecktor Shipyards in Mamaroneck, New York for a complete refit. The design plans for the refit and extension were drawn by Bill Langen with Sparkman &amp; Stephans. The topsides of the yacht were widened, adding 10 feet to create a garage storage, night generator room, and a spacious aft deck for dining and lounging. The interior of the yacht was completely redone, and a new GM 1292 Diesel engine was installed (later replaced with 12V 2000's in 2001). The running gear shafts and props were also extended and moved to accommodate the new designer. The interior refurbishment was done at Derecktor's Shipyards and overseen by Orsini Design of New York. In 2001, new Twin Kohler 32 kw generators and 12Volt 2000 series MTU engines were installed, with only 6,000 hours on the clock. A Northern Lights 12 KW generator with 1,300 hours was also added. During the 1993-95 refit, a flybridge arch was also added. DIDAY has since spent summers at the owner's home in Martha's Vineyard and winters in South Florida and Charleston, making her a well-traveled yacht with a stunningly refurbished interior that showcases the potential of a yacht with a strong pedigree.
