Boat Description
Introducing the All-New Tartan 395, a stunning blend of elegance, power, and superior craftsmanship that stands out in the crowded world of production sailboats. Tartan Yachts has built a solid reputation for creating the most aesthetically pleasing and well-constructed performance cruising sailboats, and the Tartan 395, designed by Tim Jackett, is a proud addition to their legacy that spans nearly 60 years.
Every aspect of the Tartan 395's design and construction is meticulously examined to ensure exceptional cruising performance. Its hull shape is an advanced iteration of proven designs, providing remarkable stability and generous interior space while ensuring smooth handling across various sailing conditions. The hull and deck construction features multi-axial layers of uni-directional e-glass fibers combined with closed-cell structural foam for the hull and traditional balsa for the deck, all infused with modified epoxy resin. This technique results in a void-free laminate with an ideal glass fiber to resin ratio, creating a stiff, robust, and lightweight structure.
On deck, the Tartan 395 showcases signature design elements, including a classic, stylish cabin house adorned with elegant polished stainless steel rectangular portholes. True to Tartan's commitment to natural light and ventilation, the 395 includes 12 house-side portholes, 2 cockpit portholes, 7 deck hatches, and 2 Dorades. The spacious yet secure cockpit serves as the central hub for socializing and sailing, featuring twin wheels that provide unobstructed sightlines whether sailing or powering. This layout also facilitates a clear walkway leading to the hinge-down transom platform. All sail controls are conveniently routed to cabintop winches, with headsail trimming winches easily accessible from each helm position. With a self-tacking jib sheet and double-ended mainsheet led to the cockpit winches, sailing alone or with a small crew is effortless. Tartan partners with top-tier suppliers for deck hardware to ensure perfect sizing and installation, reinforcing their commitment to delivering the finest sailing experience and best-equipped sailboats in the industry.
