Boat Description
Introducing the All-New Tartan 395 – a stunning blend of elegance, power, and craftsmanship that stands out amidst the sea of ordinary production sailboats. Tartan Yachts proudly continues its legacy of creating the most visually appealing and well-constructed performance cruising sailboats in the industry. Designed by Tim Jackett, the Tartan 395 marks a remarkable addition to the esteemed lineage of Tartan sailboats that began nearly six decades ago, with four boats already on order as of now.
Every aspect of the Tartan 395's design and construction is meticulously crafted to ensure exceptional cruising performance. Its hull shape represents a refined evolution of proven concepts that provide remarkable stability and spacious interiors, while maintaining smooth sailing characteristics across a variety of conditions. The hull and deck are constructed using advanced multi-axial layouts of uni-directional e-glass fibers, combined with closed cell structural foam coring for the hull and classic balsa coring for the deck, all infused with modified epoxy resin. This process results in a void-free laminate, optimizing the glass fiber to resin ratio, which yields a robust, lightweight hull and deck structure. Tartan’s commitment to using top-tier laminating materials and techniques offers design flexibility, allowing for focused strength in critical areas while minimizing weight to boost performance.
On deck, the Tartan 395 features signature design elements, including a beautifully crafted cabin house adorned with stylish, functional polished stainless steel rectangular portholes. True to the Tartan heritage, this model ensures natural light and ventilation with 12 house-side portholes, two cockpit portholes, seven deck hatches, and two Dorades. The spacious cockpit serves as the heart of social and sailing activities, designed for both security and comfort. The twin wheels are positioned widely apart, providing unobstructed sightlines whether under sail or power. This layout allows for a clear center walkway leading to the hinge-down transom platform. All sail controls are conveniently routed to the cabintop winches, with headsail trimming winches easily accessible from each helm position. The self-tacking jib sheet and double-ended mainsheet, led to the cockpit winches, make solo and shorthanded sailing effortless. Tartan collaborates with the most reliable suppliers of deck hardware worldwide, ensuring optimal sizing and installation, further solidifying Tartan’s reputation for delivering the finest sailing vessels in the market.
