Boat Description
Introducing the All-New Tartan 395, a stunning blend of elegance, power, and craftsmanship that stands out in the crowded market of production sailboats. Tartan Yachts has a storied legacy of creating visually striking and impeccably built performance cruising sailboats, and the Tartan 395, designed by Tim Jackett, is the latest addition to this esteemed lineage that spans nearly 60 years.
Every aspect of the Tartan 395's design and construction is meticulously crafted to ensure exceptional cruising performance. Its hull shape is a refined evolution of proven concepts, offering remarkable stability and generous interior space while maintaining smooth handling in various sailing conditions. The hull and deck are constructed with advanced multi-axial layouts of uni-directional e-glass fibers, reinforced with closed-cell structural foam (hull) and traditional balsa coring (deck), infused with modified epoxy resin to create a void-free laminate. This process achieves the ideal balance of glass fiber to resin, resulting in a robust, lightweight structure that enhances performance. Tartan's commitment to using top-tier laminating materials allows for design flexibility and strategic strength optimization, ensuring an efficient sailing experience.
On deck, the Tartan 395 features signature design elements, including a sleek cabin house adorned with polished stainless steel rectangular portholes that provide ample natural light and ventilation. The boat boasts 12 house-side portholes, 2 cockpit portholes, 7 deck hatches, and 2 Dorades, maintaining the Tartan tradition. The spacious cockpit serves as both a social hub and sailing command center, with twin wheels positioned for excellent visibility under sail and power. This design also facilitates a clear passage to the hinge-down transom platform. All sail controls are conveniently routed to cabintop winches through rope clutches, while the headsail trimming winches are easily accessible from both helm positions. With the self-tacking jib sheet and double-ended mainsheet led to cockpit winches, sailing single-handedly or with a small crew is effortless. Tartan collaborates with the world's leading suppliers for deck hardware to ensure proper sizing and installation, further underscoring their dedication to providing the finest sailing and fully equipped boats in the industry.
