FULLY RESTORED VIKING 40 This meticulously maintained Viking 40 showcases a classic design, upgraded and preserved over the years. The boat was kept in a covered slip from the time of purchase until April 2022. With a comprehensive restoration costing $153,000, there’s nothing left to replace or repair on this vessel. ENGINES & MAINTENANCE Featuring (2) Nanni Diesel 320 HP Direct Drive Engines, both new as of May 2007 with only 950 hours on each. A major maintenance overhaul is scheduled for April 2024, which includes new heat exchangers, after coolers, transmission coolers and filters, engine impellers, oil changes, and Racor filter replacements. Enjoy a cruising speed of 15.5 - 17 knots, reaching a top speed of 22 knots while maintaining fuel efficiency of 18-19 gallons per hour. NAVIGATION SYSTEMS Equipped with new electronics installed in April 2022, including a Garmin GPS 8612xsv touch screen chart plotter, Garmin xdcr, CHIRP-HW1KW transducer, and GMR Fantom 24 radar. DECK & HULL EQUIPMENT New seacocks, portals, and deck hatches were installed in March 2024. The hull has been soda blasted, cleaned, retouched, and re-glassed where necessary, followed by several layers of barrier coat and bottom paint in April 2024. The full flybridge canvas and new Strata Glass were replaced in June 2023. Additionally, a new remanufactured windlass, solenoid panel, helm switch, and 5/8" x 200' colored A/L were installed in September 2023. ADDITIONAL UPGRADES & MAINTENANCE A Kohler 10kw diesel generator (1225 hours) received major maintenance in May 2023, including new water pump, hoses, belts, filters, and switches. Three new AGM batteries (100 amp, 715 MCA) were installed in April 2023, along with new forward and aft bilge pumps and switches replaced in July 2024. Cruisair air conditioning units (12,000 and 8,000 BTU) were installed in December 2012 and serviced in May 2024. The galley was updated in June 2018, featuring a Summit refrigerator/freezer, 2-burner electric Ceran cooktop, U-Line ice maker, microwave, and coffeemaker. In March 2023, the starboard and port slider windows were replaced with tempered, tinted glass, complete with teak work for the interior sills and frames. A new full head was installed in October 2021, including a stand-up shower, medicine cabinet, Raritan hold & treat system with an Electro Scan 15-gallon tank (12-volt), and a Crown Head macerator toilet, with servicing completed in July 2024. The teak swim platform has been serviced, with stainless-steel struts and all hardware replaced in March 2023. New zincs were added in April 2024. The interior has been upgraded with new carpeting, complete painting, new overhead lighting in June 2023, and a new headliner in August 2024. The main stateroom features a full bed and AC, while the V-berth offers sleeping for two, AC, and under-berth storage. The open salon is equipped with a smart TV and seating for five. The Viking 40 Convertible combines versatility and solid construction, making it an ideal choice for boating families who enjoy both coastal cruising and fishing. With its contemporary styling, this older model appears remarkably newer than its years. Viking has established a reputation for building high-quality yachts, and the Viking 40 Convertible is a prime example that continues to be highly regarded among yachtsmen and sport fishermen. Designed in-house by Bruce Wilson, the Viking 40 Convertible was introduced at the 1973 New York Boat Show and remained in production until 1982, solidifying its place as one of Viking's most successful models, with 270 units built during that time. The hull and decks are constructed from fiberglass composite materials with a solid fiberglass laminate bottom and cored hull sides, deck, and cabin structures. Viking pioneered core composite technology, ensuring durability and reliability, with issues being rare and typically stemming from improper repairs or installations.
