Introducing Snapdragon, a meticulously maintained 1986 Tashiba 31 that beautifully marries the timeless design by Robert Perry with the exceptional craftsmanship of Ta Shing. As hull #9 of only 25 ever made, she has had just two previous owners and has exclusively navigated the pristine waters of Lake Superior. Driven by a reliable Yanmar 3GM30F diesel engine with around 1,800 hours, Snapdragon has undergone thoughtful upgrades and consistent maintenance throughout her life. Recent enhancements include a new ignition switch installed in 2025, a new alternator, upgraded electrical systems, LED lighting throughout, and refreshed mast wiring along with navigation lights. At the helm, the boat is equipped with a Raymarine e97 multifunction display, Evolution autopilot, and Quantum radar, ensuring modern navigation capabilities while preserving the classic charm of this capable cruising sailboat. Her sail inventory comprises a main sail, a 115% Yankee, a staysail, and a storm sail, with most of the running rigging replaced in the last three seasons. The ground tackle is equally impressive, featuring both CQR and Fortress anchors, ample chain and rode, and a Simpson Lawrence manual windlass. The bowsprit was professionally rebuilt in 2022, with recent updates to the running rigging and a replaced forestay for the switch to a hank-on Yankee. Inside, the cabin offers a diesel-fired heater for comfort. With her proven Robert Perry design, quality Ta Shing construction, a history of freshwater use, and an extensive list of practical upgrades, Snapdragon is a classic cruising sailboat ready for her next adventure on the water. A fresh layer of ablative bottom paint will be applied in 2026, adding to her long list of recent maintenance and improvements. A custom-fit full 'shipshape' winter cover is included, and a 2025 survey is available for interested buyers.
