Exclusively used in fresh water, Tara has been my trusted companion on the Great Lakes for the past two decades. Designed by the renowned Robert Perry, she boasts a solid build and is in excellent condition, ready to embark on new journeys with her next owner. Inside, you'll find a stunning teak interior complemented by a beautiful Sitka spruce mast. Equipped with pedestal steering and a mounted autopilot, this 12,000-pound displacement sailboat features a 5,000-pound cutaway full keel and a robust fiberglass layup. She was in sail-away condition when she was hauled out last fall, 2025. Her equipment list includes: - A well-equipped set of sails: main, yankee, staysail, and spinnaker, with roller furling on the headsail and lazy jacks on the main. - An updated Simrad NSS8 chartplotter with a Navionics Gold US and Bahamas micro SD card. - RS35 VHF radio with AIS and 3G radar. - Maxwell HRC10 chain/rope electric windlass. - Two CQR anchors and one Danforth anchor. - Frigoboat fridge/freezer, stainless steel two-burner propane stove with oven, and pressure hot and cold water. - Excellent charging system with West Marine 8D and starting batteries. - A diesel cabin heater for comfort. - Custom Fairclough cover and tailored hatch and steering station covers. - The original Volvo Penta engine, well-maintained with a rebuilt transmission.
