The 31 Grand Slam showcases a traditional deep-V hull and is equipped with twin inboard engines. At first sight, it may seem like a typical open sport fishing boat with an expansive fishing cockpit, but a deeper inspection reveals a host of intriguing features. The helm seat conveniently transforms into a leaning post, while a unique central service bay provides excellent access to all mechanical and electrical systems. The cockpit is designed for efficiency, complete with modular tackle centers, rod holders, and ample storage bins. Below deck, you'll find accommodations featuring four single berths (the dinette seatbacks cleverly convert into additional bunks) and a standup head with a shower. Although standard gas engines weren't a hit with buyers, the early models equipped with optional 250hp Cummins diesels can cruise at 28 knots, reaching a top speed of 33 knots. Models with the 300hp Cummins diesels, available after 1990, can cruise at 30 knots and achieve speeds of 34-35 knots. In total, around 160 units were produced during its run.
