Dauntless is a custom-designed 78-foot expedition yacht, crafted by renowned sculptor Art Benson, created for global family adventures. This vessel is not only a striking work of art with elegant hull lines and custom bronze details, but also a robust offshore schooner capable of long-distance travel under both motor and sail. Formerly known as 'Javalina Queen,' Dauntless is specially equipped for high-latitude sailing with 6 inches of insulation throughout. It features an enclosed heated pilot house, a sturdy steel hull, and a reinforced bow designed to navigate through Arctic ice packs. The functional layout includes a master cabin located just aft of the pilot house for easy access to the helm, while guest accommodations are situated forward, complete with a desk and private head. Enjoy stunning views from the expansive whale-watching platform surrounding the bowsprit, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. The galley is outfitted with a new, large gimballed 4-burner stove and oven, along with two full-sized refrigerators and a deep freezer located in the engine room for ample food storage. The salon provides a cozy space for conversation with a comfortable sofa and dinette. The spacious engine room includes a workbench, a generator, a welder, and a refreshed 3208 Caterpillar main motor. Ground tackle features two 400-pound anchors, each with 250 feet of chain for ease of use. The yacht’s power system consists of two D-series deep cycle batteries and two D-series lithium polymer batteries, charged via a Mastervolt inverter when connected to shore power, along with 1000 watts of solar power and a 60-amp charge converter for use while sailing. Its transmission gearing allows for a cruising range of 1000 nautical miles on a single 300-gallon fuel tank. For navigation, Dauntless is equipped with two 24-inch computers running Coastal Explorer, each with AIS receivers, GPS receivers, and a marine NMEA 2000 network backbone. Training and delivery options are available upon negotiation.
