The Moondance 42.5" is a stunning custom motor yacht that captures attention in every harbor. This uniquely designed trawler-style yacht draws inspiration from traditional workboats, featuring a striking red aluminum hull with distinctive conical projections and robust aluminum tubes that enhance its sleek profile. The silver tubes and rails provide a striking contrast against the red hull. The white superstructure boasts panoramic 360-degree views, highlighted by wrap-around doors and windows, topped with a bold red brim. The deck is adorned with two masts supporting radar, antennas, lights, and a dinghy lifting boom. 

Inside, the bespoke design reflects the elegance of Herreshoff style, showcasing custom mahogany joinery, edge-sawn fir flooring, white walls, and a textured headliner. The forward V-Berth offers a cozy double bed with a latex mattress, ample storage, ventilation, a deck hatch, and a private head. Just aft is a secondary stateroom that accommodates up to three people, featuring a convertible sofa/pull-out double bed, a single bunk, a table, and a second head, making it perfect for families or couples. Both heads are equipped with electric flush toilets, storage, ventilation, sinks, and shower conversions.

Midship, the combined galley/cabin/pilothouse is just three steps up from the staterooms, offering comfortable seating for four with additional storage. The pilot area includes three swivel captain's chairs at counter height, which can be turned to face either the helm for navigation or the dining area for meals. The fully equipped galley features a double sink, Force-10 propane stove, top-load refrigerator, waste bin, full-size microwave, and mahogany-edged countertops with plenty of storage for cookware and dining essentials.

At the aft, a semi-enclosed cockpit boasts two 6-foot long lazarette seats covered in durable Sunbrella fabric, accompanied by a teak table and plenty of sheltered space. Isinglass panels can be used to enclose the sides and rear, easily opened with zippers and ties for fresh air. A two-step ladder leads down to the swim platform, while generous lazarettes on both sides provide ample storage. 

Experience cruising in comfort at over 7.5 MPH while consuming just 2.1 GPH. The in-line Steyr six-cylinder engine, located aft, ensures a quiet cabin while underway, and hydraulic fin stabilizers minimize roll in rough seas. Steer using a large hydraulic wheel or the convenient Autopilot feature, which includes a one-knob steering option. The pilothouse is equipped with three comfortable chairs—two at the port helm and one starboard—allowing for an enjoyable cruising experience. With a range of over 1,250 miles, you can embark on extended adventures with ease. Upon reaching your destination, deployable stabilizer arms with 'rocker-stoppers' enhance comfort even in choppy anchorages. 

The anchor system features a powerful Tigress windlass, equipped with chain and rope capstans, and a unique handheld remote for easy operation from the bow, facilitating solo anchoring on breezy days. A Bruce Claw anchor with 250 feet of chain and a large Fortress storm anchor with chain and rope are stored in the chain locker. Heating is provided throughout the yacht by an Espar diesel/kerosene forced air unit, with six adjustable vent outlets to regulate airflow in every room. Access to mechanical and bilge areas is made simple with sturdy hatches throughout the sole, and the Engine Room can be accessed via the starboard lazarette or a hatch in the galley.
