Boat Description

The Dana 24 offers an impressive 6' 1" of headroom, creating a spacious feel akin to larger vessels. Upon entering through the companionway, you'll find a well-equipped galley to port, featuring a gimbaled Force 10 two-burner propane stove with oven, a generous insulated icebox, a 10" deep sink with a hand pump, and a foldable extension for additional counter space. To starboard, the walk-in head compartment includes a manual toilet, a sink with a hand pump, an integral shower pan, and a convenient wet locker. Accommodations for four are comfortable, with two 6' 6" settees and a forward V-berth measuring 6' 8" long by 6' 9" wide. Storage is ample, with two large drawers, a drop locker beneath the berth, cabin shelves, and a hanging locker. A clever dining table conveniently slides out from beneath the V-berth when needed. The interior radiates warmth with hand-rubbed oiled teak, complemented by teak joinery and cabinetry above a teak and holly sole. Eight bronze opening ports and a sizable Bomar deck hatch ensure plenty of natural light and ventilation. The builder claims that the interior of the Dana 24 is "fully 50 percent larger than comparable boats of similar length." The vessel features a cutter rig with a 3' teak bowsprit equipped with an anchor roller, a plow-style anchor, and nylon rode. Stainless steel bow and stern rails with stanchions and lifelines enhance safety, while bronze cleats, chocks, and opening ports add to its classic charm. The cockpit, designed for tiller steering, comfortably seats up to six adults, with bench seats measuring 6'3" long and 18" wide, plus storage below. A green dodger and matching cockpit cushions provide added comfort, and a removable deck hatch in the cockpit floor allows for excellent engine room access. Propane tank storage is conveniently located at the rear of the cockpit. The vessel features an aluminum, deck-stepped mast with single spreaders and an aluminum boom, along with stainless steel chain plates bolted to the hull's exterior. It is equipped with Harken roller furling, a mainsheet traveler mounted on the transom, and a comprehensive sail inventory including a mainsail, genoa, staysail, and cruising spinnaker. Three Lewmar winches (two 30STs and one 16ST) assist with sail handling. The onboard electronics include an ICom M424 VHF radio, Raymarine Autopilot, ST60 instruments for apparent wind, speed, and depth, along with a Raymarine Hybrid Touch GPS Chartplotter and a Ritchie bulkhead-mounted compass. The 12V DC system is powered by two Group 24 batteries with a selector switch, and a circuit breaker panel is conveniently located to the port of the companionway. The fresh water system is non-pressurized, serving the galley and head compartment, and there is a Groco manual flush toilet with a Y-valve. The vessel is equipped with both electric and manual bilge pumps. Please note, the company provides details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee their accuracy or the vessel's condition.
