The Morning Star has undergone significant upgrades and maintenance to ensure peak performance. Key updates include the replacement of the refrigerator, water heater, and flybridge carpet in June 2022. An oil change was also performed, and a new stereo with speakers was installed in August 2022, along with a night vision camera. The starboard main engine battery was replaced at the end of 2022, and the engine's sea water impellers were also updated. During an August 2022 haul-out, the rear cutlass bearings were replaced, underwater lights were added, and a new side scan sonar transducer was installed, alongside other minor maintenance tasks. In September 2022, the dinghy winch was replaced, and a new stateroom mattress was added in January 2023. A new battery charger was installed in February 2023, with house batteries being replaced in May 2023. Another significant haul-out at Morton Marine in March 2023 included replacing the starboard motor mounts and forward cutlass, servicing the shafts and props, and replacing the starboard exhaust system and turbo. The fuel system received attention in October 2023, while the port exhaust system and motor work were addressed in December 2023, with detailed invoices available. Additional engine services were performed by John White in August 2023 and a new bait pump was added at the end of 2023. The carpets were cleaned throughout in August 2024, the boat was waxed and rails polished in November 2024, and a new rear bilge pump was installed in December 2024, along with an upgrade to the electrical panel voltage.
