Introducing 'Beyond Capricorn 1', a Nordhavn 57, hull number #17, constructed in 2001 to meet Australian Survey Standards for a discerning Australian owner. She was delivered to Melbourne, Australia, in 2002 and has the potential to return to Australian Survey for charter work if desired. This impressive vessel boasts numerous custom features, including two staterooms: a master suite with an ensuite bathroom and a guest cabin that shares an ensuite with a two-bunk cabin. Additionally, she has crew quarters equipped with two bunks and an ensuite. As the WIDE BODY version, she offers an expanded salon and a spacious flybridge entertaining area. One of only six twin-powered 57s built, she is driven by two Caterpillar 3126 TA (mechanically injected) diesel engines, each with 420hp. She also features twin 17.5kva Onan generators and a 24v 8" Bow Thruster for enhanced maneuverability, surpassing the standard 6" found on most models. 'Beyond Capricorn 1' has an impressive cruising history, having set sail from Australia around 2003 to the Mediterranean, making stops in Indonesia, Singapore, Goa, Oman, and traversing the Suez Canal. The owner then ventured into the Black Sea and navigated the Danube at Constanta, Romania, crossing central Europe and exiting at Antwerp before returning to the Mediterranean via the UK and Gibraltar, where she enjoyed several years of cruising. After being sold to two related Turkish owners, she was docked at Gocek in Southeastern Turkey, where she had a full-time Captain for 16 years until our purchase in November 2018. Since then, we have extensively explored the Mediterranean and crossed the Atlantic in December 2022. We conducted routine maintenance after hauling the boat in Chaguaramus, Trinidad, before continuing our journey through the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the East Coast of the USA, amassing over 25,000 nautical miles. Prior to our ownership, 'Beyond Capricorn 1' underwent cosmetic work at RAM marina in Rio Dulce, Guatemala, where her superstructure was refreshed and her bottom stripped back to the laminate for a new epoxy barrier coat and anti-fouling application.
