This meticulously upgraded MJM 40Z is in exceptional condition! Since 2013, its owners have consistently enhanced its features with the latest technology while maintaining its stunning aesthetics. As one of the few boats equipped with Yanmar V8 I/O engines, it’s an ideal option for navigating or mooring in shallow waters, making docking effortless. In 2016, the boat was enhanced with a Hemisphere hovering system that elevates its joystick operation. Here’s a summary of the impressive upgrades: - Major refit completed in summer 2013 at Boston Boat Works, replacing the original Cummins engines and drive system with Yanmar 370 HP 8LV V8 Diesels and new ZT370 drives, along with an electronic helm and joystick docking system. - The hull topside was repainted a striking majestic blue, and the entire hull was meticulously long boarded to a mirror finish. - The bow rail was upgraded to a more rigid design. - A full electronics system was replaced, featuring Raymarine GS series 15.4” and 9” displays, autopilot, radar, depth/fish finder, night vision camera, I70 multi-display, VHF, and KVH system with Dish TV. - Ocean LED underwater lighting, a custom Crestron audio/visual system with touch screen controls, a movie server, music server, satellite radio, Wi-Fi, custom speakers, and two TVs were added (over $100K in equipment). - New wiper motors, horns, batteries, and an upgraded inverter/charger and security system were installed in 2014, alongside a Side Power bow thruster. - In 2014, the full Stratoglass enclosure was replaced, and the microwave convection oven and Vacuflush toilet were upgraded. The KVH system was enhanced to HD7 with direct TV (in HD). - In 2015, all three front windscreen assemblies were replaced, and the anchor, rode, and chain were renewed. The hardtop received a fresh paint job, and all gelcoat imperfections were repaired. - In 2016, a Sea Keeper 5 gyro was installed, and the Hemisphere Hovering system, similar to "DPS" and "Skyhook," was added. Electric windscreen actuators were fitted on all three windows, along with new interior cushions in the main salon. The topsides were repainted in majestic blue, and the bottom was soda blasted, treated with Interlux epoxy, and repainted. - Removable floor mats were placed throughout the interior, along with privacy curtains and custom sheets for dinette and pilot house berths. A Reverso oil change system for mains and generator was installed, and a Bimini top was added in 2022. - In 2022, cockpit cushions were re-upholstered, and the charger inverter was replaced. - In 2023, a new Yanmar ZT370E outdrive was installed (with a spare drive included). - In 2024, the Northern Lights generator was rebuilt, and a new Garmin GS165 multifunction touchscreen was added. - In 2025, a 1000-hour service was completed by Precision Marine.
