Dovekie, a timeless 42-foot Kadey Krogen trawler, is designed for self-sufficiency and long-term living aboard, making it ideal for adventurous couples. Equipped with stabilizers and both bow and stern thrusters, she is easy to handle. Her generator, solar panels, expansive battery bank, and water-maker enable her to venture into remote anchorages with confidence. Dovekie has spent many years exploring the secluded regions of the Bahamas and has successfully circumnavigated the Caribbean, proving her readiness to return to these destinations at a moment's notice. To enhance her capabilities, she has undergone several significant upgrades. In 2007, her hull was reinforced and treated with vinyl-ester by Osprey Marine Composites in Deale, MD. The previous year, her top deck was completely re-cored and finished with Awl-grip. Naiad stabilizers were also added in 2004. That same year, her decks were entirely replaced with new teak (without screws), and her hull received a full gelcoat restoration. Dovekie has been meticulously maintained, stored “on the hard” during summers from 2000 to 2017, and has since relocated to New Jersey. She has also been wintered in Myrtle Beach (2019-2020), New Bern, NC (2020-2021) where she had a bow thruster installed, Charleston, SC (2021-2022), Portsmouth, VA (2022-2023), and is slated for storage in Portsmouth, NH (2023-2024) and New Jersey (2024-2025).
