Boat Description

The Jeanneau 410 is a beautifully designed sailboat featuring three spacious staterooms. The forward master cabin includes a charming vanity, while the primary head is equipped with both a shower and toilet, meeting all your needs. This model is a fantastic evolution of the 440 and 490 series, showcasing twin rudders, a full hull chine, and gently sloping side decks that provide easy access around the helm station. **Design & Construction** The Sun Odyssey 410 is built with the same reliable construction methods as its larger counterparts, featuring a solid fiberglass laminate hull set in polyester and a balsa-cored deck. The L-shaped keel, available in both deep and shoal-draft options, is made of cast iron. Its hull design includes a subtly raked reverse destroyer bow, which extends slightly beyond the static waterline, allowing for enhanced wave-piercing capabilities. A stylish fixed spirit serves as both an anchor carrier and a tack point for a Code 0 or asymmetric spinnaker. The hull also includes a full-length hard chine for improved initial stability and carries more beam towards the front. Steering is facilitated by twin rudders, essential for a boat with a wide beam. **On Deck** The SO 410 is the smallest in the eighth generation of the Sun Odyssey line to feature the innovative "Walk-Around" cockpit, first seen on the SO 440 and 490. This design allows the side decks to slope downward into the cockpit, enabling crew members to move freely without climbing over the cockpit coaming. The helmsman can stand comfortably outboard of the wheels while steering. A fold-down transom at the back provides easy access to the water, and a fixed cockpit table with fold-down leaves features a convenient insulated cold-storage bin, slightly offset for easier access to the transom. Both the mainsheet and jib sheets are led to Harken 46 winches conveniently located just forward of the wheels. Other controls are managed through Harken 40 winches near the companionway. The main sail is operated with a bridle spanning the coachroof, eliminating the need for heavy hardware, while genoa tracks have been removed for a cleaner deck layout. The raised bulwarks enhance crew safety when working on the leeward side, although handholds could be improved forward of the mast. **Accommodations** Despite its size, the Jeanneau 410 offers an impressive variety of layout options, including choices between twin staterooms aft or one stateroom with a large systems space. You can also select between an offset Pullman double berth or an island double in the master stateroom at the front. All configurations come with a combination head and shower located aft to starboard, with the Pullman layout allowing for an additional ensuite head forward. Optional features like an in-cabin vanity sink in the island-double layout provide even more customization, resulting in six different layout possibilities. The saloon features upholstered bulkheads to dampen noise while sailing, and the galley to port has a shallow "U" shape at one end to help stabilize the cook during heeling. Standard amenities include a two-burner Eno stove, dual sinks, and a Vitrifrigo fridge with an optional freezer drawer for two-cabin layouts. Behind the galley, a full-size navigation station is a welcome addition, often missing in modern designs. Notably, below decks features an inline lounge seat with padded arms, perfect for reading or relaxing during downtime. This seat can extend to create a bench opposite the dinette table, though it may not be suitable as a sea berth for taller adults.
