ARDENT is a unique gem and offers tremendous value for anyone in search of a cruiser/racer. This vessel is designed for speed and is fully equipped for blue water passages. Recently, she underwent a complete refit tailored for ocean cruising, featuring a Solent double headsail rig and an elegantly refurbished interior, crafted by her current owner, a skilled furniture maker and solo sailing enthusiast. Some of ARDENT's standout features include a forward anchor windlass and locker, additional cabinets in the forward berth, and a versatile cockpit table that can transform into a custom workbench for dining or projects. She boasts a new refrigerator and freezer that operate on solar or wind power. All mechanical and electrical systems have been updated or rebuilt (2024-2025), ensuring reliability. The main sail has been resewn, and new headsails were added in 2025, along with three spinnakers in excellent condition. Every component has been meticulously inspected, replaced, or restored to optimal working order during the recent refit. Additionally, a brand new hypalon dinghy with an 8 hp Yamaha 2-stroke engine and a customized davit system are included. The current owners initially prepared for a five-year adventure, while the previous owners enjoyed a mix of East Coast cruising and local racing, including three Annapolis to Bermuda races and an Annapolis to Newport race. In 2008, with aspirations for offshore adventures, ARDENT underwent a comprehensive refit focusing on safety and comfort for long-term ocean cruising. After this update, the owners successfully sailed her double-handed across the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, where they spent several years exploring various countries including Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece, Turkey, and Croatia.
