EXCEPTIONAL TRADITIONAL CRUISER READY FOR ADVENTURE! The 1978 Islander 36 "Charisma" is celebrated for its performance, durability, and seaworthy design, making it one of the most adaptable bluewater cruising sailboats available. This version, ideal for Chesapeake Bay, boasts a desirable shoal draft of 4’9” and a tall mast rig, ensuring excellent handling in both light breezes and rough seas. Remarkably, she is in above-average condition for her age, showcasing stunning craftsmanship and elegant wood trim below decks. Meticulously maintained and thoughtfully upgraded, she features a reliable Yanmar 40HP diesel engine with only 685 hours and a 3-blade prop. New canvas items include a bimini, dodger with connector, stackpack, and winch covers. The cabin has been refurbished to provide a bright and comfortable atmosphere. Additional new equipment includes polycarbonate saloon windows, lifelines, and lines & sheets. The roller furling jib and main sail are also in great shape. With a solid fiberglass hull, CNG stove and oven, and extras like a wood floor and a dinghy with outboard (both in excellent condition), this boat is ready for the water. A slip in Annapolis is paid through March 2026, and the owner, with over 50 years of sailing experience, offers several days of onboard orientation.
