This model features a center cockpit, short rig, and a solid keel, specifically the Irwin 52. Upon entering from the cockpit, you're welcomed into a large main salon that seamlessly connects to the galley and navigation station. To port, you’ll find a 55" 4K TV, a Denon AV receiver, a Bose 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound system, and a Pioneer radio, complete with speakers throughout the cabins and cockpit. The navigation station at the rear includes a flip-up chart table, storage shelves, a navigation chair, and hull side lockers, along with integrated chart storage. Forward of the navigation area is a 2-drawer bureau and five hull side lockers. On the starboard side, a spacious love seat sofa, stool, and removable table complement the three lockers, bookshelf, ice maker, and a stylish glazed drink cabinet, all cooled by a 16 BTU reverse cycle AC unit. At the rear, there's an inviting breakfast bar that overlooks the starboard aft galley.
The salon boasts replaced windows and mahogany wood cabin sides, creating a warm ambiance with extensive mahogany cabinetry and bulkheads. Two overhead hatches, along with seven large coach roof windows, ensure a bright and airy interior. With no built-in furniture, the salon can be customized to suit your personal style, allowing for additional furnishings. It features a headroom of 6'6" and Teak ceiling strips along the hull sides. The galley, located to starboard and aft of the companionway, is spacious enough for several onboard chefs to collaborate in meal preparation. Just aft of the companionway, the passageway leads to the master stateroom, which includes large storage lockers filled with spare parts, filters, and tools, alongside a front-loading washer/dryer and trash compactor. A central counter in the passageway shares space with the galley.
The master stateroom is expansive, featuring an athwart-ship queen size berth that accommodates a standard spring mattress, making it easy to find fitted sheets. The stateroom includes a large closet on the starboard side, a hanging locker on the forward bulkhead, a sizable locker to port, eight drawers, bookshelves, a full-length mirror, and an L-shaped settee. It also features mirrored bulkheads with two lockers and shelves, complemented by two overhead hatches and five portlights for excellent light and ventilation. A 16K BTU reverse cycle AC unit keeps the space comfortable. The en-suite bath offers a manual head, tiled countertop with a stainless steel sink, a mirror, and a fully tiled separate tub/shower (newly installed in 2016), along with three lockers and shelf storage. An overhead hatch and portlight provide additional light and ventilation.
Moving forward from the salon, a guest head to port features a tiled countertop, stainless steel sink, two lockers, tiled walls, a bulkhead mirror, manual head, and a separate fully tiled shower stall with a seat (also newly installed in 2016). The crew or kids' stateroom is located opposite the head on the starboard side, equipped with over-and-under twin berths that can convert to a sofa during the day. This area includes two hanging lockers, three drawers, four lockers, and three storage bins. It can be closed off from the walkway for privacy. The third stateroom is located all the way forward and features a V-berth, a mirrored three-drawer bureau, a locker, hull side shelves, an overhead hatch, and two portlights for exceptional light and ventilation. It also includes an additional 6K BTU reverse cycle AC unit.
The center cockpit serves as the heart of the vessel, providing a generous space with over 7' long settees. The owner has beautifully installed Teak flooring and seating, making it perfect for stargazing. Six coaming lockers provide ample storage, and a full enclosure allows for comfortable use during inclement weather. A large cockpit table is ideal for meals, while a sizable Destroyer steering wheel with an adjustable brake, along with a Danforth compass mounted on the pedestal, enhances usability. Navigating around the deck is safe and easy, thanks to wide side decks and secure grab holds. In 2017, all deck hatches were replaced with custom Bofor alloy low-profile hatches, and in 2020, the salon coach roof windows were reglazed, and the internal wood paneling was replaced. The portlights were resealed and refurbished in 2023.
The galley is equipped with double stainless steel sinks featuring hot and cold pressure water, Formica countertops with fiddles, a ceramic three-pan stove top, and a Samsung combination convection oven, grill, and microwave. Additional appliances include a kettle, an air fryer, a Nova Kool dual voltage refrigerator and freezer, and a 110V chest freezer. An additional preparation and serving area is located centerline under the cockpit floor. Forward of the sinks is a breakfast bar or additional serving area, accompanied by two opening portlights.
Electronics include a Raymarine E125 MDF (new in 2014), a Raymarine RD418HD radar dome mounted on the mizzen mast (new in 2014), and various Raymarine instruments for wind, depth, and speed. The vessel also features advanced communication systems, including a Simrad fixed-mount VHF radio with an AIS receiver (new in 2019), and a range of Victron and digital yacht products for power management and solar energy.
The rigging and sails are well maintained with the standing rigging replaced in the spring of 2025, and the running rigging in good condition. The vessel is equipped with a Perkins 4-236 85HP diesel engine, rebuilt in 2024, ensuring reliable performance. The generator, a Northern Lights 12KW diesel, was installed in 2016 and has only 600 hours of use. The vessel has been meticulously cared for, with numerous upgrades and replacements made throughout the years, ensuring it is ready for long-term cruising or as a comfortable home.
Having been sailed extensively along the Northeast Coast, "Anodyne" is suited for remote working and is fully operational. Its current owners, who have lived aboard since 2014, are open to offers as they prepare to return to the UK.
