Boat Description

"Third Wish" is a fisherman's paradise, defying her age with a fresh, modern appearance thanks to her solid, one-piece molded fiberglass construction. Lovingly maintained by her current owner for the past eight years, she underwent a comprehensive refit costing nearly $400,000 in 2008 by the previous owner. If you're in search of a reliable sportfish that excels in challenging ocean conditions and boasts impressive fishing capabilities without breaking the bank, look no further than "Third Wish." Her classic sportfishing profile features a high foredeck and an elegant sheerline, complemented by a low freeboard cockpit. The 45 Convertible is renowned among tournament anglers for its robust fiberglass build and exceptional seakeeping abilities. Inside, her two-stateroom, galley-down layout offers a roomy main salon and a generous cockpit, earning high marks for overall fishability. Notably, in June 2019, the starboard engine received a complete overhaul and has only logged 210 hours since. The owner, Luke Heath, passionately shares his experience: "WHY IN THE HECK DID I EVER BUY THIS BOAT? Because no amount of luxury can match the safety, comfort, and fishability of a 45' HATTERAS. I wanted something more substantial for offshore adventures, and after thorough research, I found this hull, crafted when Rockwell International owned Hatteras, made with solid fiberglass and no wood coring—built to last a century. It’s one of the strongest hulls ever made, affectionately known as a 'battle axe.' The powerful 660hp Caterpillar engines, Twin Disc transmissions, and running gear were salvaged from a 54-foot Sea Ray with a galley fire and installed in 2003-2004, thanks to the previous owner's $380,000 refit and upgrades. This boat is impressively fast, hitting 33 knots, and handles large seas like a dream. Equipped with trolling valves for effective slow trolling and dependable for both fireworks excursions with 18 guests and offshore adventures with 10, it's never left me stranded. With two VHF radios, radar, a life raft, and an 18-foot sea anchor, peace of mind is guaranteed even in storms. Everything is in excellent working condition, with engines and transmissions running smoothly. Though I love this boat, health issues prevent me from using her as I once did. For videos and photos of her in action, please contact the broker. This majestic vessel promises many more years of service and is truly one of my best purchases. I assure you, seeing her in person will not disappoint! Captain / Owner Luke Heath. Located in Solomons, MD, available for viewings by appointment."
