Boat Description

Introducing the Hans Christian 41 Traditional Hull #56 — the final hull of a legendary series and a unique chance to create your own bluewater classic. This unfinished vessel, constructed by Pantawee Marine Co., Ltd. in Thailand, features a nearly completed hull and deck that embody the exceptional craftsmanship associated with the Hans Christian name. After being shipped to Texas, the project has remained in indoor storage for years, preserving its new, unused condition—an ideal alternative to older yachts needing extensive refits. Designed specifically for offshore passagemaking, the Hans Christian 41 Traditional emphasizes durability, stability, and comfort at sea. With an overall length of approximately 40'10", a beam of 13'3", and a displacement of 35,500 pounds, it boasts a traditional full keel with 12,000 pounds of encapsulated lead ballast, a robust skeg-hung rudder, and a versatile cutter rig for handling various offshore conditions. The hull features solid fiberglass laminate below the waterline, while the fiberglass deck is reinforced with balsa core in high-load areas, ensuring strength and reliability. Unlike typical home-built projects, Hull #56 is factory-built with major structural components and specialized fittings crafted by the original Hans Christian builder. The completion work includes not only the hull and deck but also structural bulkheads, an engine bed, cockpit structures, and various deck fittings. An extensive inventory of original bronze and stainless-steel hardware, steering components, electrical systems, and custom cherry woodwork adds significant value to the project. A brand-new, zero-hour Volvo Penta D2-75 diesel engine has been installed but remains uncommissioned, paired with a Hurth Marine transmission and various drivetrain components, all of which are part of the extensive inventory that makes this project easier to complete. Hull #56 offers the flexibility for customization, allowing you to choose modern systems tailored to your cruising preferences. Remaining work includes rigging, sails, winches, drivetrain installation, and all interior systems, providing an exciting opportunity for an experienced sailor to shape a traditional bluewater passagemaker to meet contemporary needs. Located in Texas and priced at $128,500, this is a rare opportunity to complete the last example of a respected offshore cruising design. Serious inquiries are encouraged to explore the extensive component inventory and arrange an inspection.
