The magnificent classic yacht Linmar, crafted in 1932 by the New York Launch and Engine Company for John Marlin, founder of the Marlin Firearm Company, has an impressive history. After supplying millions of firearms to the US government during WWII, the Marlin family became one of America's wealthiest. Over the years, the yacht has welcomed numerous business magnates, political figures, and celebrities, including Elton John, The Rolling Stones, and Heart. From 2010 to 2025, Linmar underwent an extensive refit and restoration, costing over $2.2 million. This meticulous restoration included a complete overhaul of the superstructure, engines, anchoring, plumbing, electrical, and steering systems, primarily conducted by Haven Boatworks in Port Townsend, Washington, under the expert guidance of master shipwright Blaze Holly. The yacht's interior and exterior are in pristine condition, making Linmar one of the finest examples of a classic American-built wooden yacht today.
