The Garlington 44 Express is celebrated for her impressive speed, smooth ride, and exceptional fishing capabilities, rivaling much larger vessels. The hull and topsides were meticulously sanded, faired, and refinished, followed by a complete re-powering and installation of a new tower, teak, paint, electronics, cushions, pumps, motors, generator, wiring, air conditioning, water maker, bow thruster, Eskimo ice machine, freezers, fridge, counters, cabinets, and soft goods, among many other upgrades. Her new Cat C9 engines deliver an exhilarating cruising speed of over 30 knots while consuming just 39 gallons per hour, with a top speed of around 36 knots. A Phasor 9kw generator ensures power for all AC systems as needed. Throughout her life, she has undergone continuous upgrades, including new teak decks (2024), state-of-the-art Garmin electronics (2023) housed in a newly glassed helm, new exhaust and mufflers, and engine room insulation (2024), along with fresh exterior paint (2024), new cushions and soft goods (2022), new interior counters (2022), and a new 540 Eskimo ice machine (2023). Other recent enhancements include new freezer components, AC pumps, props, cutlass bearings, teaser reels, and more. After a recent haul-out in December 2025, she received bottom paint, prop speed, and new bearings.
