2005 Egg Harbor 43 Sport Yacht

New Jersey builders have a reputation for creating seaworthy fiberglass fishing boats. That heritage continues with the Egg Harbor 43 SportYacht. Egg Harbor challenged the Michael Peters design team to develop a fast, dry-running surface, since the company has a long history of building top-flight offshore boats. The resulting slightly concave bottom boasts prop pockets affording the 43 a shallower draft (3.5’) for transiting the Bahamas banks or shallow waters up and down the Eastern seaboard.

More importantly, the prop pockets allow for a reduced shaft angle. By directing thrust more parallel to the water’s surface, efficiency is significantly improved. When combined with a moderate 17-degree deadrise at the transom, the result is a smooth, stable ride with excellent fuel economy.

“Eagle” is rigged for fishing and serves equally well as a cruiser/stay aboard. She’s hosted her owners in the Florida Keys for the 2026 winter.
