Boat Description

Introducing Debonair, a beautifully maintained vessel that has undergone extensive summer maintenance, including fresh paint and varnish work for 2024. This boat boasts a rich history, having been constructed in 1973 by master builder Don Ward in Wilmington, California, under the guidance of esteemed naval architect Edson Schock. Known for his diverse designs, Schock's influence is evident in Debonair’s craftsmanship, built with high-quality materials and a keen attention to detail. Over the years, the boat has been lovingly cared for and upgraded by her dedicated owners, including a renowned Santa Barbara artist who sailed her to Hawaii and achieved notable success in sailing competitions. Current owners, including a professional Boatwright, purchased her in 2011 with dreams of sailing the South Pacific. After a comprehensive six-year refit, they completed their voyage in 2019, exploring the PNW and Alaska. On deck, maneuverability is enhanced with ample handholds and mast pulpits near the main mast for secure sail management. The cockpit is designed for comfort, featuring full cushions, pedestal wheel steering, and excellent visibility. Below deck, the Aft Cabin welcomes you with a double berth to port and a well-equipped navigation station to starboard, along with plenty of storage. The galley is U-shaped, complete with a stainless steel sink, a 3-burner stove and oven, a large refrigerator, and abundant storage. The salon features a single settee and a spacious U-shaped dinette that converts into a double berth, offering additional storage throughout. The cabin is kept cozy with a Dickinson Diesel Heater, ensuring comfort on cooler nights. The head is equipped with a LaVac Marine toilet and sink, with a hanging locker nearby, while two bunks and more storage can be found at the bow. Debonair has been meticulously maintained, making her 'cruise-ready' for her next adventure. With her striking appearance and exceptional sailing performance, she is sure to turn heads wherever she sails. Owner’s manuals, vessel history, and photographs are included in the sale. Showings available upon request.
