Penelope, formerly known as Princess Gloria/Stampede, is a remarkable 118-foot expedition motor yacht crafted by Delta Marine. Launched in 1990, she underwent significant renovations in 2006-2008 and again in 2024, ensuring she remains at the forefront of luxury and performance. Built on a sturdy commercial fishing hull with GRP construction and a full-displacement design, Penelope promises exceptional seaworthiness and efficiency. A 12-foot hull extension, designed by Delta Design Group, enhances her fishing cockpit and transforms her into an impressive sportfishing mothership while maintaining the comfort of a family cruiser.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3412 TA diesel engines, each delivering 624 hp (with a complete in-frame overhaul in 2016), Penelope can reach a top speed of 12 knots and cruises smoothly at 10 knots, boasting an impressive range of 6,000 nautical miles at that speed, using about 32 gallons per hour for the main engines and one generator. She holds 20,000 gallons of diesel, 2,000 gallons of fresh water, and features a 450-gallon tender refueling station. Naiad 503 fin stabilizers and a 100-hp hydraulic Schottel bow thruster ensure superior stability and maneuverability. Electrical needs are met by two 75-kW Caterpillar 3306B generators and a newly installed 65-kW Northern Lights night generator (as of November 2025).
Designed for adventure, the deck layout includes a flybridge equipped with a hardtop, helm station, hot tub, wet bar, and generous C-shaped seating. The boat deck is fitted with hydraulic cranes for two large tenders (an 18’9” Egret with a Yamaha VF115LA and a 17’ Hells Bay, repowered in 2024), along with storage for kayaks, paddleboards, and a new Sea-Doo GTX Limited 300 (added in 2024). The aft deck features teak dining for ten guests, with stair access to the boat deck and down to the cockpit. The specially designed fishing cockpit is equipped with 15 rod holders, a large livewell, a 600-lb/day ice chipper, fish boxes, extensive gear lockers, and a 450-gallon gasoline fueling station. At the bow, twin Steen windlasses manage two 1,100-lb stockless anchors with 720 feet of chain each.
Accommodations for up to eight guests are comprised of four staterooms: a luxurious full-beam king-berth master suite with an en-suite head (featuring dual sinks and a separate shower); two queen-berth VIP staterooms, each with en-suite heads; and a forward twin cabin with two single beds and an en-suite head. A versatile gym/office space adds flexibility for guests. Crew quarters can accommodate up to seven crew members, including a captain's cabin and crew cabins at the front, along with full laundry facilities.
Recent upgrades from 2023-2025 include a new Atlas shore power converter, installation of the night generator, enhancements to the ice-making and refrigeration systems, dual Starlink Maritime antennas for high-speed internet, and a complete refresh of the AV/CCTV systems with new Luma PTZ and fixed network cameras. All soft goods were updated in 2024, complementing previous multi-million-dollar renovations that redefined her interiors, added the 12-foot hull extension, and installed new teak decks.
For navigation and electronics, Penelope is equipped with two Furuno NavNet radars, multiple Furuno NavNet chartplotters, a Garmin GPS Map 840xs, Simrad AP50 autopilot, Danforth compasses, Furuno sonar, AIS, Standard Horizon, Quantum and Uniden VHF radios, an ICOM SSB, KVH VSAT, and twin Starlink Maritime systems. These advanced systems, along with her robust machinery and expedition-ready fuel and water capacities, position Penelope as an ideal choice for cruising to remote destinations in both safety and style.
