Boat Description

Introducing the 1997 Rozema 50' Custom Aluminum Aquaculture Landing Craft, affectionately named "Jimmie". This purpose-built vessel is designed for beach landings and constructed by the esteemed Rozema Boat Works, the trusted builder for the Coast Guard, capable of withstanding 35-foot seas. With an overall length of 50 feet, Jimmie is powered by twin 300 hp Mercury outboards and features a robust aluminum welded hull specifically designed for landing craft operations. Rozema Boat Works has been a leader in aluminum welding since 1955, and their commitment to quality is evident in every inch of this craft. Jimmie is uniquely tailored for shellfish production in tideland environments, featuring a shallow draft that allows her to rest on gravel during low tide, as captured in photos showing her bow-in on the beach. The twin outboards are designed to tilt clear of the seabed, eliminating vulnerable shafts and struts, making her ideal for work in tidal areas. Equipped with a hydraulic boom crane and a full-length conveyor system for distributing cultch, her spacious open bulk deck is fenced and rated for substantial loads—evident when she’s loaded with shell from rail to rail. The raised pilothouse provides excellent visibility for close-quarters work, and the bare, unpainted marine-grade aluminum means no gelcoat issues or rot, allowing for easy modifications by any competent aluminum yard. Having spent her career on Hood Canal, one of North America's richest oyster-growing estuaries, Jimmie remains in excellent, well-maintained condition, offered by her long-term operator. This is a rare opportunity for shellfish growers, marine contractors, or tribal enterprises seeking a reliable and proven beachable production platform, as Rozema crafts these boats one at a time, with owners typically retaining them for years.
